to do this video, i mounted a video camera inside the barrel. after a few days of recording and rolling the barrel, the camera fell down and broke.
In this project, the recording device is reinvented and extended by using a barrel. My new instrument for transforming and playing with perception alters and transgresses traditional recording devices by introducing a lack of control. As an artist, I am sculpturing and controlling (rolling on a sidewalk) this device, but the end product turns into a self-structured and self-representational mechanism. Images of random landscapes are rendered with the gaze of one particular camera re-located from a tripod to a barrel. The camera inside the barrel has been eager for such shots!
The filter which the camera employs while being inside the barrel becomes emphasized in this video, leaving the viewer to question the formal process and its execution.
